This VMA car transporter is based on a PMC pallet and can be extended to accommodate the generally larger and heavier cars - the platforms can extend to a maximum length of 4300mm and allow for a MGW of 8000 lbs.
The rationale behind this product was to develop a single deck car transporter which is well up to the task of accomodating heavy luxury vehicles, however lacks the bulky dimensions and as such eliminating the usual challenges when manoeuvring a large 16ft/20ft pallet through a carriers network.
Cars can be transported on both the retracted unit (smaller cars on lower deck) as on the extended unit for upper deck transport.
The platforms are locked in the retracted (or extended) position, undoing the locks will enable you to slide out platforms and lock them again once at the desired position. By sliding the platforms out, one will also have access to two storage areas which could be used for e.g. straps or any other tiedown equipment.
Two out of four platforms house drive on and off ramps which can again be slid out underneath the two platforms above. A support structure is folded out underneath to carry the weight of the car when driving up and off.
