Airbus' A380 is assembled in France and after final assembly flown to Germany where the interior will be installed. During this flight, called the ferry flight, a safety means needed to be developed to provide guidance and grip for the ferry flight crew who move through the aircraft main and upper deck during flight.
The handrail assembly can be installed using standard installed seat tracks. After arrival of the A380 in Germany, the handrail assembly is demounted again and put away in dedicated containers for return transport to France.
