British engineering company Didsbury developed a new solution for aircraft fuel tank entry and rescue. The purpose was to ensure that engineers have safe access for inspection & maintenace of fuel tanks.
The purge air system drains residual fuel from the fuel tank and provides technicians inside the tank with a constant supply of breathable air. The whole system is based around our customized AKH container for rapid deployment by air cargo. The kit comes complete with equipment for draining residual fuel, ventilating tanks, breathing apparatus, communications, gas detection, lighting, rescue equipment & comprehensive training.
The AKH has multiple compartments for technical equipment and with retractable wheels, it can be wheeled through a maintenance facility without the need for any auxiliary equipment.
